A Legitimação dos Linchamentos a Partir da Narrativa Midiática: uma Análise da Produção Discursiva do “Bandido” Como Ser Matável

Resumo: O presente artigo investiga a narrativa do Jornal A Gazeta acerca dos casos de linchamentos ocorridos entre os anos de 2004 a 2014 no Estado do Espírito Santo. Foram analisadas diversas características relevantes, como a motivação que teria levado os linchadores a cometerem o linchamento e a denominação que o jornal atribuiu à vítima do linchamento e aos participantes, entre outros aspectos gerais. Após essa análise inicial, foi utilizado o conceito do homo sacer de Giorgio Agamben para investigar como a vítima do linchamento foi considerada um ser indigno de viver e matável pelo Estado, pela mídia e pela sociedade, já que pôde ser verificado que o mero suspeito da prática de um crime é considerado como um “bandido”, sendo constatado que inexiste proteção jurídica e política em face desse sujeito.

Abstract: This article investigates the narrative of the “A Gazeta” newspaper about the lynching that occurred from 2004 to 2014 in the state of Espirito Santo. Several relevant characteristics were analyzed, such as motivations that would have led people to commit lynching, the name which the newspaper attributed to the victim of lynching and to the participants, among other general aspects. After this initial analysis, Giorgio Agamben’s concept of the “homo sacer” was used to investigate as the victims of the lynching was considered a being unworthy to live and to be killed by the state, the media and society, as it could be verified that the suspect of committing a crime is regarded as a criminal. It is observed that there is no legal protection and policy in face of this subject.
